Rehabilitation of Ifite-Amansea Road to Begin Next Week - Obiano's Aide

Obiano to Rehabilitate UNIZIK Ifite-Amansea Road.

The Governor of Anambra State, Mr Willie Obiano has reportedly promised to come to the aid of students and commercial vehicle operators who ply the Ifite-Amansea Road, a feeder road leading to popular UNIZIK “Permanent Site” Gate in Awka.

This was made public through the Facebook Page of the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Obiano on social Media – Mr Ifeanyi Aniago. An excerpt from the quote is shown below :

“The calls, inbox and open letters to Gov Obiano by the students and staff of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, on the poor state of Ifite Road has been heard and request answered.I have received assurances that the road will be fixed starting from next week.Obiano is 100% inclined to bettering the welfare of the greatest Nigerian Students.Few weeks back, Obiano handed over a 32-seater bus to students of FCE(T), Umunze following other monetary aids and today, Akpokuedike has answered the call of the students to prioritize the repair of the access road to UNIZIK permanent site.…A leader that listens is trustworthy!”
The Students who have decried the poor state of the Ifite-Amansea road have been writing letters and complaints to the State Government to step in and change the status quo.
It is noteworthy also that Governor Obiano visited the Ifite-Amansea road in July during the “Operation Keep Anambra Clean” project. Mr Obiano expressed disappointment on the state of the Road and promised a rehabilitation.
